Hello families,

Welcome!  Welcome to students, caregivers and families to what promises to be an exciting school year at Sunnyside.  My name is John Howison and I am the Principal at Sunnyside.  I can’t wait to meet all the new and returning students.  Sunnyside is a great school and place to get involved.  Please encourage students to join clubs, try activities and find ways to become and feel part of the school.  

This year Sunnyside has six Grade 7 classes and six Grade 8 classes.  Students come from many different schools around Kitchener and beyond which means classes of both new and familiar faces.

Communication and relationships with families is an important priority at Sunnyside.  Please call (519 896-1130) or email (sun@wrdsb.ca) to ask questions, set up a meeting or clarify anything else.  The main methods of communication from the school are School Day and the Sunnyside website.  Please contact Sunnyside for School Day support.

School Council is another way to stay connected and be a part of life at Sunnyside.  Please keep an eye out for messages around our first meeting.

Lastly, the bell to let students into the school rings at 8:15 and school starts at 8:20.  If you know a child will be late or absent please either call the attendance line (519 896-1130) or email (sun-attendance@wrdsb.ca).
