The students at Sunnyside Public School participated in a school-wide project that explored how concepts of wisdom and truth can best serve them in the future. Students chose a meaningful quotation, or “words of wisdom”, from a wide variety of sources – books, religious texts, video games, family, ancestral knowledge, etc. They then reflected on why they found it meaningful and how that truth might help them five to ten years from now. In collaboration with Dr. Lai-Tze Fan from the University of Waterloo, students used a critical thinking creative approach to leverage generative AI tools to create an image that captured the essence of their reflections.

The resulting slideshow is a beautiful mosaic made from a multiplicity of perspectives. It will be on display at the Stanley Park Community Center, 505 Franklin St N, Kitchener, ON, from June 3 – 14, 2024 between 9am – 9pm (Mon-Fri) and 9am – 4pm on the weekends. The public is encouraged to join us on opening night (June 3) from 5pm – 7pm for a special viewing with the students and their families.
