Dear Sunnyside families,

The last full week of school is almost here. As we prepare to wrap up, we want to thank all of you for your support, flexibility and trust as we navigated this turbulent year. Though it was a unique year, full of challenges, we are very proud of our students and the resilience they demonstrated. In order to help us complete the year, please read below important information for returning borrowed technology, picking up report cards/diplomas/student items and connecting with teachers.

June 22nd: Virtual Graduation Day

  • A link to the pre-recorded graduation ceremony will be shared in all Google Classrooms and via School Day on June 22nd
  • Thursday, June 17th is the last day to submit a photo to be included in the video.

June 23rd:

  • Last day of Synchronous Learning (no live Google Meets after this day)
  • Asynchronous Learning activities will be shared with students both through the Google Classrooms, and via hard copy available on June 24th and 25th

Drop off of Borrowed Tech and Pick Up of Report Cards / Grade 8 Diplomas:

** Distane Learning Report Cards will be mailed / In Person Report Cards can be picked up

Pick up and Drop Off Safety Procedures:

COVID-19 is still a threat in our community. Please adhere to all safety measures when coming to the school.

  • Everyone must be wearing a mask when they are on school property.
  • There will be no access inside the school.
  • Students are asked to complete the COVID screening tool  prior to coming at their scheduled times.
  • All individuals must maintain appropriate social distancing at all times and are asked to wait in designated areas.
  • Students cannot congregate at the school and will be expected to leave once they have completed their return/pick up.

Thursday, June 24th:Grade 7 – Pick Up and Drop Off Day:

  • Grade 7s are invited to come to school at assigned times to drop off borrowed Chromebooks, and pick up student items and report cards, and to connect with their teachers.

9:40-10:30 – 7-1 / Mr. Miller

Please note:

**If you are unable to come at your scheduled time, the office is open from 8:00 to 3:30 until July 2. (Due to ongoing Construction at the school, only office staff will be onsite after June 28th; teaching staff will be working remotely)

**Remaining Report Cards will be mailed after June 28th.

**Students registered for Summer School are able to keep their Chromebooks for the summer.
