A huge thank you to staff, students, parents, and community members who attended our Day of Diversity. What a successful first time event! Our students rotated through many different activities throughout the day including language classes, Highland dancing, a Native storyteller, drumming, slide shows, cultural games, and many many more. Our halls were each a specific continent and were filled with colourful flags, beautiful art, and meaningful “We are Related” posters. The evening fashion show and food display was attended by more than 400 people and we had such a wonderful display of traditional clothing and a great assortment of foods from many different cultures. Thank you to all parents who donated artifacts, flags, clothing and food! Thank you to our teacher Chris Edwards who first brought the idea to our staff in the fall and was so busy all year coordinating this unforgettable event!! A job well done!
